i bought this because i figured for the price i couldn't go too far wrong. i'm a naturalist as a camp, so we used this to study samples and were able to see all kinds of roundworms and tardigrades and rotifers. it's small enough to fit in my kit and cheap enough that it doesn't make me nervous having children use it outdoors.

I think of everything much differently now that I've used this on every surface that I thought would be interesting in my house. Then went out into nature and started using it there. There is no end to how many cool things you can see with this!
Also, I got one of these and it failed after a week of use. Carson sent me a replacement, free of charge. They were really helpful about it. It was the LED that lights up the subject - the LED itself had a weak connection inside the bulb, not the solder joints as I thought. The overall construction is good and feels right in the hand.

I bought this to track my saliva to watch for ferning. It worked! If you need anything more powerful, then obviously this won’t help; you won’t see any typical sized bacteria. I just needed enough magnification to view saliva, but I used it on other things, such as sticky notes with black ink and a cut on my friend’s finger. It was very fascinating and I recommend this. The phone clip worked for me but was a little cumbersome to use. I have cool photos now.

Great for use with checking OE parasites on butterflies. Very clear picture. The only drawback is it doesn't come with a storage case.

I am a scientist now teaching laboratory to college students. I have a “regular” LM microscope at home needs power etc. Sure this one does not provide as high magnification as a “real one” and at the same time guys it’s purpose as a field microscope. Quality is great, view is good. Attachment to iPhone for pictures is a great tool. Only downside is the little bit hard to focus on a slide which now provides a sliding slip. Overall a really great asset!

This is perfect for your little scientist. My two little ones (7 and 10) absolutely love this microscope. It’s very user friendly and it comes with a cool little set of accessories. It’s has a light! That’s very important, without a light a microscope just isn’t functional. The microscope focuses easily and it’s easy to swap slides. The children have inspected so many things and they’ve begun to understand more about how things are put together and how germs can be spread. This microscope will open doors for your children’s little minds and it can make everyday items more exciting. They’ve looked at everything from money and clothing to a blade of grass and carpet fibers. They ask more questions and they do their own research. This is a great little go anywhere microscope.

Wow! I'm so impressed with this pocket microscope! First of all, I can take it anywhere with me versus a regular sized microscope which would be a hassle to carry around. I purchased this for my 9 year old who is studying Kingdom & Classifications in our homeschool and it was just what we needed. I'm super happy about the price it's so worth it. I know in the future I'll have to invest in a $200+ microscope but for now this one will do. We looked at skin cells, cheek cells and his nail he grew just to view it. I love the fact that I can attach my phone to get a bigger view and we can actually point out what we see. I highly recommend this to anyone on a budget.

The first time the whole thing was missing in the order. Luckily amazon agreed to send another one without me sending the whole package along with my other coffee products back which would take months.

The microscope itself is amazing. It does take a bit time to get used to handle it properly but once you get the angles right, the result is truly amazing. Especially for the price. My daughter loves it SO much!

This microscope is perfect for use out in the field and at home. The clip is universal and worked for my android, iPhone 6 Plus, and my iPads. There’s a little bit of a learning curve with focusing. Take your time and experiment with the focus both with your phone and the naked eye. After a handful of uses, it’ll become second nature and the pictures you’ll get are amazing. I’ve used this for fine adjustments with hobby parts and for looking at things in nature like leaves. It works well in both applications.

I ordered this to look at a deer tick that was removed from my leg at the doctor's office. The magnification on this unit was actually too high to take a good look at it. It was better than anything that was available in the doctor's office!

I really like the little lens adapter that allows you to use your phone camera as an attachment, both to make viewing easier and to take photos and video.

I'm going to keep it because it's absolutely amazing. The picture quality, the viewing quality it's just over the top for the price of the unit.

I just got this because I’m a kid inside and I like to look at small things. I’ve discovered a whole world that I couldn’t see before. This thing shattered my quality of image expectations, wish I had one of these when I was a kid.
